Artist Statement

My varying works are based on our society/environment and the interpersonal relationships, idioms, and other quirks that make our cultures unique. These pieces, however, are supposed to be light-hearted, colorful, and 'young' to reflect upon the juvenility of my current disposition.
My style is clean, soft in some aspects, and colorful with a distorted realistic mix with cartoon paintings. My medium, mainly acrylic, is utilized in a way that makes the picture look two-dimensional yer have the impression that it's popping out from the bland background. Most of my pieces have no background because I believe the background would drown out the meaning of the piece. I want people to focus on the focus point rather than have them minimizing into every inch of detail. That would make the piece mesh together into a blur.
